Tax Season 2020

January 14, 2020

When to Expect Your 1099s:

  • Schwab has two release dates planned: January 31 for simple accounts (cash and stocks only), and February 14 for all other accounts (those that have mutual funds and ETF holdings). Note that these are the “digital release date”, i.e. when the 1099 is available online. If you are waiting for the paper copy, allow one to two weeks for it to show up in your mailbox.
  • TD Ameritrade expects to release 1099’s online no later than February 15. You may receive your 1099 earlier, but please don’t count on it.
  • If you need get a copy of your 1099, don’t hesitate to call us. As a reminder, we do not generate annual reports of fees paid, unless specifically requested. This is due to the tax law changes that came into effect in 2018 which effectively eliminated the tax deductibility of fees paid from taxable accounts.
